9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
Each of the World Trade Center Towers was 110 stories high. 110 flights of stairs.
To honor and remember all those who perished on that day we invite the public to take part in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Bill Cody Statue “The Scout”.
WHEN: Monday Sept 11, 2023 (beginning at 8am)
WHAT: Climb the 2 flights of stairs leading up to The Scout 55 times (the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs)
WHO: Anyone over the age of 12 who wants to climb stairs in honor of the fallen.
* Climb as an individual (doing all 110 flights).
* Climb as member of a team you put together (any number of members in your team are welcome).
* Climb as member of a team you put together (any number of members in your team are welcome).
WHY: Because we can. Because it’s important to remember that horrific day when thousands of innocent people (our fellow Americans) died as our nation was under attack. Because it’s important that we NEVER FORGET.
Refreshments (water, juice, Gatorade, fruit, energy bars and home-made cookies) will be provided
Those who do not wish to stair climb (but who would like to watch all or part – and honor in their own way) are more than welcome to attend.
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT AND NO FEE. JUST SHOW UP.
