Danno Simpson was born in Dallas, TX, and raised on the high plains of Colorado. Growing up in a town where the local rodeo was the biggest event of the year, country music was a constant in his up-brining. Drawing his influence from Texas songwriting legends (Towns Van Zandt, Guy Clark & Willis Alan Ramsey) and the mountain music of the Rocky Mountains, Danno creates story-driven narratives that pay homage to the past while connecting with modern audiences. With a powerful voice that harkens back to the southern soul singers of yesterday and a songwriting style described as, “timeless”.

Cutting his teeth in the dusty cowboy bars of Colorado and Wyoming; Danno’s start was anything but easy. From dive bars all across the United States, and theaters in the Rocky Mountains, to headlining his own show at Luckenbach, TX; Danno continues to perfect his craft and continues to put in the miles, remaining authentic and honest in his music. Doing things the “old-fashioned way” has garnered Danno a grassroots and passionate following.

His powerful voice, well-crafted songwriting, and versatility as a performer have placed Danno on stage with multiple national acts from a variety of genres: Reckless Kelly (Red Dirt), Mike and The Moonpies (Country-Rock), Willi Carlisle (Folk), Jeremy Pinnell (Honky-Tonk), Jason Eady (Singer-Songwriter) and Caroline Spence (Americana). Danno was recently featured on WhiskeyRiff as one of “Fifteen Country Artists That Should Be More Well Known Then They Are” (2022).
