Knit “Boxeur” Wristwarmers Class
This is a great stand alone class that will take place over a couple weeks. A fun pattern to knit!
Instruction takes place over two classes. The first is on January 10th from 1-3pm, and the second will be January 17 from 1-3pm.
Materials provided by student:
● Worsted-weight yarn, 80-120 yards, depending on mitten size.
● Needles size US 6, straight or circular (for working flat).
● 2 stitch markers.
● Tapestry needles and scissors.
The pattern, “Boxeur” by Alice Twain, is included in the price of the class as it is a paid for pattern.
Sizes: 6-8 years, women’s S-M, women’s L/men’s S, men’s M-L. Hand width (measured right below the fingers): 6 (7, 8, 9) cm / 2 ¼” (2 ¾”, 3″, 3 ½”). Total length: 17.5 (19, 20.5, 22.5) cm / 6 ¾” (7 ½”, 8″, 8 ¾”).
Gauge: 11.5 sts and 14 rows = 5 cm (2″). Gauge is very important in this project; if anything, err on the tight side (the mitts will stretch).
Homework to be done prior to class: Work a gauge swatch in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side); see note above. Work the ribbing for one or both mitts but do not start the hand. Be ready for class by following these instructions!
