Tours & Trails: Historic Cabin Crawl

Exclusive Tours at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is teaming up with Hiking Buddy LLC to bring visitors into the beautiful vistas and historic trails of the American West. Join us on September 24th at 1pm for a moderate trek through breathtaking landscapes of Northwest Wyoming, diving into the region’s past as we go.
This inaugural Exclusive Tours & Trails event will begin at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West at 1pm on September 24th and then wind its way west with stops at Colter’s Hell, Old Marquette Overlook, and then a hike to a historic cabin tucked into the mountains. We’ll trace the footsteps of native peoples, homesteaders, and pioneers that left their marks across the area.
This isn’t just a walk – it’s an interactive hike through time that will get your blood pumping! Engage with your guides, ask questions, enjoy the views, and join a trek that brings history to life. Shared transportation to the trailhead is available, and participants can enjoy complimentary trail snacks, water, and hiking poles for the duration of the event.
The hike will be 4 miles roundtrip and include short distances with steep inclines and declines, intermittent shade, and beautiful views. This trek averages about 3.5 hours with lots of stops planned for participants to enjoy the scenery, learn some history, catch our breath, and grab as many photos as desired. Immerse yourself in the splendor of Cody’s natural landscapes as we traverse trails that wind through rugged terrain, wild sagebrush desert, and picturesque canyons.

Meet your Guide:
A Cody local and owner of Hiking Buddy LLC, Dave Leo is an insured, certified and permitted hiking guide in Northwest Wyoming with decades of experience in guiding hikes. Trained in first aid and CPR, the Cabin Crawl trek is one of his go-to trails. He will join Exclusive Tours staff in creating a one-of-a-kind experience in Yellowstone Country.
